another lunchtime sketch

Image
Another of my 15-20 minute lunchtime sketches, this one looking out the window of a fast-food restaurant at a parking lot and small office building. I think they're getting a little stronger.

Moleskine assorted

Some good, some not so good. In the middle here somewhere I went to Houston on a day trip for no reason. I only got a couple of drawings accomplished, but I'd love to go back soon.

The Pearl Stable is not finished

Well, the building is, but the drawing ain't. Too small, too many details, too centered of a composition. Wasn't working. It's a shame, too, because it's a beautiful building, as is the Pearl Brewery right next to it. Maybe I'll get back to it later. The Pearl neighborhood is a pretty neat place.

Cox Radio Tower

I'll admit it-- I'm obsessed with San Antonio's mid-rise office buildings. They are scattered throughout town and most are adjacent to free parking, meaning free sketching. I've drawn more than one like this-- the Cox Radio building-- with a strip-mall in the foreground. More to come.

Moleskine...

These are some more lunch break sketches. I've yet to complete one in my allotted 15-25 minutes that I thought really worked compositionally, but they are still fun to try.

Three new sketches

I finally went and picked up some new Moleskines the other day. Here's the first few days' worth: buildings along alamo plaza my (relatively) new shoes Linda's swift- a tool she uses to wind yarn from a skein into a ball.
